Strymon Mobius : MIDI
MIDI messages are usually sent across MIDI cables that connect to the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports of MIDI compatible devices. Most devices utilize a 5-pin MIDI cable, but there are some 7-pin MIDI connections and some devices can communicate with MIDI over USB or TRS and other connections.
It is normal practice to connect a cable from the MIDI OUT port of a device like a MIDI controller to the MIDI IN port of the receiving device like one of our pedals.
To control two or more Strymon pedals with a MIDI connection, you can start by connecting the MIDI OUT from the MIDI Controller to the MIDI IN port of the first Strymon pedal. Then, connect the MIDI OUT from that first Strymon pedal to the MIDI IN of the next Strymon pedal and do the same for any additional MIDI equipped pedals you would like to control.
In order for the MIDI messages from the controller to be passed on to each device in the MIDI chain, you must enable MIDI Through on each pedal before the last device in the MIDI chain. On the Strymon pedals, this is found in the GLOBLS menu in the MIDI TH parameter. Set MIDI TH to ON and this will enable MIDI Through on the pedal.
MIDI CHANNEL
With TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius, MIDI can be used to control the presets and parameters of the pedal externally from a MIDI Controller or from another MIDI equipped Strymon pedal. You need to make sure that the MIDI controller and the Strymon pedals are set to communicate on dedicated MIDI Channels.
MIDI SYNC
Enable it as a global parameter for the device to accept external tap or sync
MIDI CLOCK ON/OFF
Mobius will respond to external MIDI clock from MIDI with this parameter set to ON per preset.
So, in each preset that you want to control with external sync /tap, you must navigate to PARAMS/ MIDICL / press Enter / ON and then save it.
TAP
In the GLOBAL MENU, there are two choices
1 : Preset : when patch is changed, delay time will change to saved value in preset
2 : Global : delay time will remain at the last tapped tempo regardless of current preset
ENGAGE current preset

Strymon Volante : trails
Spillover is set as a power-up mode by pressing and holding the TAP footswitch at power-up.
When the pedal turns on in the power-up mode, press the feedback 2 button to turn it green to enable Spillover.
One thing to note is that you must be on the current setting for at least 5 seconds before switching to a Favorite/MIDI preset in order to get spillover/trails.
To enable spillover when bypassing the unit, here is the option

Captor X
The latest captor has got bells and whistles to play and record a tube amp silently …
Power or no power
Without power, the captor only works as an attenuator.
You have to plug the power outlet provided with the device otherwise no sound will come out from either the headphones or the XLR outs (have not tried phantom power yet).
Factory Sound
Factory speakers (IRs) that come with unit have a lot of reverb.
The space knob do not remove the reverb.
Since I use a combo, I can very easily compare the sound of my speaker with the sound of the IRs. Factory sound has a lot of sag
that becomes annoying and unbearable. I downloaded the Two Notes app to solve those issues.
App
The Torpedo Wireless App is available on the PlayStore .I paired the device with my phone. I did not have to register, enter my email, etc.
Still, to succeed pairing, you have to enter three times zero, followed by the last three digits of the device ID available either on the box or on the back of the unit.
Once connected, the IR’s and cabinets loaded and were available for modification within the phone app.
The App is really useful to get the sound that you want. You can load your own IR, change cabinets, add a room effect, etc.
So what ?
I think the best way to get the sound that you want will always be to compare it to a real speaker attached to the amp. Miking a speaker is not my goal yet but it is nice to have that option available.
The modified IRs remain in the unit and are available without a phone on 6 physical presets as well as 122 more through midi if you have use controller.
